This aussie actor, Paul O'Brien, looks so much like Gale Harold I just *had* to show him off. I always thought they looked alike, but then I saw this where he's now grown a beard and yeah, whoa.

You American peeps are funny!
I had to call an American number last night to confirm something with an order I'd placed over the Internet, and when quoting my order number (which was 13112110), I said it like this:
"One three double one two double one zero"
The lady on the phone tried repeating it back and was completely lost! I quickly remembered that you guys need each number said separately, so I had a little chuckle then repeated it.
"One three one one two one one zero"
"Thank you ma'am, I'll just put you through".

Surely Leona Lewis has bled to death by now!
It was a nice song the first 50 times but the air play it's getting here now is just ridiculous!

I'm all giddy! I've just read this article at news.com.au.

Could someone please point me in the direction of the animated icon lots of people use of Brian popping the cork/making a toast at Kinnetic? I see it all the time but of course now that I need it I have no idea who has it. *forehead slap*
I searched for a whole 2 minutes before pulling my hair out thanks to my stupidly slow Internet connection, so any help would be much appreciated!

Happiest of birthdays to two extremely sweet and loving people..

Here are some virtual flowers I picked for you both.

Wait, is the writers strike over or something?
We're getting a heap of "brand new seasons" from all the shows that were apparently affected so now I'm just wondering if the strike is over, or if Australia is really just THAT behind in showing us all your shows. :P

I'm trying to decide what kind of lounge I should get in my house and thought I should come here and get some advice from my lovely flist :)
(The colours below are just examples..I have no idea what colour I'm getting yet)
Poll #1129670 Lounge
Open to: Friends, detailed results viewable to: All
CHAISE:
2 SEATER:

I should also mention I won't be getting either in leather. Too expensive and it won't work well in a house with no air conditioning!

I'm still in shock that Heath died. Especially the way it happened.. he just slipped away. He wasn't dying of anything, he wasn't murdered. He just slipped away in an assumingly peaceful sleep and that's it, he was gone. It seems to be such a waste. An unnecessary death. I'd be a pretty pissed off spirit if that happened to me you know - go to sleep and never wake up. So much unfinished business!
In my state of shock I've been heading to the news sites daily to read up on anything Heath I can find. How's Michelle doing? How are his family handling things? Obviously they'd all be devastated and crying etc but it's that train wreck situation - bad to look but too hard to look away. I'd imagine Michelle's gonna have the same problem trying to deal with a 2 year old now who can't understand death but just wants to see her daddy, just the same as Terri Irwin would have had to deal with Bob wanting Steve when he passed away.
Anyway, despite the shock and everything, I have to admit that while I've loved almost every movie Heath has ever done (and I even remember loving him on Home and Away), I wasn't always a fan of *Heath*. I often heard him putting Australia down in interviews and saying it was becoming too much like America (then he moved to America.. go figure), and I didn't like that attitude. I'm not putting America down here, but Australia is a fricken awesome place. The weather is nice and livable pretty much all year round and the people here are so laid back and friendly.. how someone could diss the place is beyond me. But Heath did every now and then and that pissed me off. He came across as arrogant.
Then I read this article yesterday, and I realised how much I hate the media.
Why DO the media only show us peoples bad sides? It really pisses me off that I'm only hearing all this good stuff about Heath now! I'm sure Heath's die-hard fans knew it all but what about the rest of us? The ones who don't frequent his fan sites daily. The ones who just see him when he's promoting movies or having some "exclusive" interview? What kind of a cynical society are we that makes the media think we'd only ever be interested in peoples bad sides?
One final thing from that article is this, and it sure does make you think..

There was always something fragile about Heath Ledger. I've loved every movie he’s done (except Four Feathers, that was a little bit crap) and been mesmerised by the megawatt smile.
But I also bought the bull. I worried that he didn't like us much in Australia and it made me wary of him.
I certainly haven't wasted sleep over Heath, I just never raved about him. I've never been as proud of him as I should have been.
Now he’s dead and there’s new press. Audio grabs of Heath having a laugh and saying beautiful things about the people he worked with and the women he loved. Stories of how he saved every “per diem” from acting jobs and sent them home to a mate in Australia still waiting for his big break.
His school principal wants us all to know that Heath Ledger never forgot where he came from. He stayed in touch with his school mates and every last one was welcome to a spare bed in Soho.
Apparently, when their neighbourhood in Brooklyn had an environmental competition, Heath and his (then) fiancé Michelle Williams painted their house green – just to give everyone a laugh.
I don’t know where these stories were a week ago but I wonder if they might have changed the way Heath Ledger felt about himself and if that might have made a difference in the end.
Why DO the media only show us peoples bad sides? It really pisses me off that I'm only hearing all this good stuff about Heath now! It also makes me wonder where the good press is on Britney or Paris. It’s ridiculously easy to believe there is none, but then again, maybe we’re just waiting until they die too, then slightly shame-faced, we’ll celebrate their good side.

Lynne Spears, mother of singer Britney Spears is shown at the premiere of the film
"Monster House," in this July 17, 2006, file photo in Los Angeles. Spears' book about
parenting has been delayed indefinitely, her publisher said Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007.

As I was driving past my old primary school this afternoon, I saw my year 5 teacher in the carpark and decided to quickly pop in and say hello. She greeted me with a big hug and proceeded to take me into the school to see my year 3 teacher and another teacher who I never had, but got along with really well.
To some that would seem really geeky, but I always got along better with my teachers than I did the students, so seeing the 3 teachers was just like seeing some really good old friends again. I don't think I've spoken to any of them for nearly 10 years or more so it was great catching up - and it's made me really happy!
...But now a poll, just to see howlame different (or not!) I am...

All this talk of MySpace possibly getting redesigned is exciting me like whoa. It's been confirmed that MySpace have teamed up with Google, so I would guess a redesign would be innevitable really.
I'm not a *huge* MySpace user. I mainly created an account to keep in touch with a few friends and fave bands of mine, but really, it's a gawd-awful place to be! I could never spend all my time there like I could at other blogging places or websites simply because trying to navigate MySpace for any longer than 5 minutes makes my eyes bleed. It's crap from the moment you sign in and click the "Remember Me" box - you know there's no point in clicking that box, because the programmers behind the place have never been able to make the cookies work like they should!
The entire site is completely frustrating. GeoCities I could forgive simply because of when it was huge and how new the Internet still was, but MySpace have no excuse for being as badly designed and coded as it is. How it ever got to be so big is beyond me.
This latest news on MySpace partnering up with Google and possibly getting a complete redesign makes me extremely happy now though. I've been looking forward to 2008 being a fresh start for me so having My Virtual Space all clean and fresh will work just lovely, thank you.

QAF is long over and there's a shitload of people on my flist who I just don't know. So if you know me, we've interacted at all in the past, or you simply enjoy the crap bits n pieces I post once in a while, then please reply* to this now. I'll leave it for a week and if you're not in the comments by the end, you're gone!

Am I right in saying that the Canadian dollar is BETTER than the US dollar at the moment?
With the huge fanbase The Office has, can someone please tell me why I can never find any videos from the most recent episodes on YouTube? Does *nobody* in the fandom record it and care to share?
I can't go on reading about all this Office goodness anymore without the visuals! *bawls*
Edit: Ok.. so I post this and then suddenly find a heap of Office goodness on YouTube. That's spooky.
